Well if you were wishing for cold weather you finally got your wish. I guess it is starting to feel "a lot like Christmas", finally. I remember at Thanksgiving listening to people talk about how they wished it would get cold and I was thinking – not me, I like 70 degrees just fine.
For me every year just before Christmas the studio and our lives get so hectic and we find ourselves running crazy from one thing to another, and as a result I start to loose the spirit. One thing that helps me every year is getting out and doing some shopping, can you believe it, to just help get myself out of the everyday routine and start thinking about others instead of work and all of the worries of life. Last Saturday I went shopping for the first time this year, I really started to wonder if I have been to the mall since last Christmas, I was able to get a lot accomplished and have some fun too. On Sunday afternoon we went to our first party of the year, a family reunion of sorts that we have every Christmas with about 60 or so relatives. I can tell you this – I am related to some of the best cooks on the planet, can't tell you everyone's names but they sure can cook. That night we came home and built a fire and gathered around it to keep warm, in our old house that was about the only warm place we could find. Monday I went out for round two and almost froze to death but finally got almost everything done.
